Guys,

Can you please give me some insight on fishing down in Aptos? Staying near the Seascape Park in mid August. Beach looks large and your advice on moving north or south would be appreciated.

Assuming targeting perch, but your advice is welcomed.

I've not fished the surf at Aptos myself. There's a bunch of info on the web about fishing in Monterey Bay, tho. Some is current info about fishing, others are not current but will provide insights to fly fishing the surf down there. be sure to check out archives/resources on each site. You might try a very large seal pattern. Maybe a 14 wt. too.
