yellow creek brookies

I was at almanor about a week and a half ago, and we went to Yellow creek and fished. All but one fish were brookies. We had never caught anything but browns and rainbows before so we were very surprised. When did these appear and where did they come from? Kevin

I've been fishing Yellow creek off and on since about 1980. I've always caught brookies down in the canyon stretch. They have moved up a bit - probably due to the decline in the other two species and in the big fish. The big browns probably used to eat a fair number of the little brookies.
