I am headed to Wisconsin on June 24, 2012 with a group of friends through the shop.

We are looking for Big Muskys, but Smallmouth Bass are also on our list.

Here is a link to a photo of the WI Smallmouth Bass I am lusting for.

Top guide and travel agency owner Keith Kaneko says these fish are really hot.

I can't wait..........

Bill, you may have a chance to check out the "Towee Rivermaster" (http://www.toweeboats.com/blog/6-news.html) while you are there. I believe they are using them for guide boats. Let me know what you think, please. Thanks, Brett

Bill, I think you guys are coming in at a perfect time. Despite our incredibly early spring, the fish don't seem to have realized it. Still the normal late June topwater blow-ups.

Northern WI got tons of rain over the last week or so, but the forecast for next week is just sunshine all the way to friday and a dry 80 degrees. The rivers should be down to slightly above normal by Monday, and the SMB up in the rocks along the shorelines-perfect driftboat conditions.

Have they scheduled you on lakes/rivers? Chippewa, Moose, Jump?
Anyway, welcome to Wisconsin and have a great trip.

Thaks John

We are going with Musky Country Outfitters and this is my first trip so I know they will take good care of us.

What is your favorite top water bug(s) for Smallmouth?

We are going for Musky and Smallmouth but I just have a thing for Smallmouth in moving water.

re: favorite bug. No doubt a Puglisi Diver in yellow. It's got so much going on, with a hook that looks like a 600SP. I know I lost 4 to muskies last year, when fishing SMB.

Had great luck last week with a "jerk-bait" from Feather-Craft. It's just a 2" foam slider, threaded to a hook dressed however you like, with a glass bead between. Rides up nicely after a hook set. Actually a saltwater deal, but really effective. (We can learn from you guys.)
