I visited a tailwater south of 80 and north of 120. Did not see much action mid day around 1PM.

I did have a small bow follow my black bugger but that is about it for action.

I did have good dry fly action at dusk.

Be sure to take a thermometer with you to check the water temp through the day and on different stretches of the stream.

Trout start to get active in the spring at around 55 degrees.

I think 55 to 65 is a good range.

Colder than that means it might be better in a week or so as it warms up more.

Warmer than 65 might mean it is already over for that stream this summer.

In general October is another great month for trout.
