Dad and I are making a trip through the Rogue River (Shady Cove) and then over to lake of the woods for a few days next week. I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for small lakes to fish in the area, I know 4mile lake is real close but don't find much info on it. I have a float tube and dont mind driving anywhere within an hour.

I doubt if the road to Four Mile Lake is opened. There was snow in the Cascades down to 5, 500 feet yesterday. My recommendation would be Fish Lake right off on Highway 140 before Lake of the Woods. It has rainbows, landlocked cohos and tiger trout that were introduced last fall. Two other alternatives would be Hyatt Lake and Howard Praire.

Yeah I have been eyeing that lake on Google maps, thanks for the input.
