Floating Kinky Muddler

I've been fishing a Kinky Muddler alot this spring with great success. I usually fish it 1 to 3 feet deep on a floating line. The last halh hour of light this evening I decided to try fishing topwater. Instead of changing flies I rubbed some paste floatant on the Kinky Muddler. Instant topwater fly! It stayed on top for a half hour without having to reapply floatant. Just another way to fish it. Mike

Mike,.... Take a look at Charlie Bisharat's "Bublicious" diver pattern. With a slight modification (using deer or other hair for the head, you could use the flat foam at the back of the head for floatation. No need for grease.... :)
