Schools of fresh Stripers are scattered from the mouth of the Feather River near Verona up stream to above Colusa, California right now.

May is the top month and they are still around in June.

You pretty much need a boat.....

I would go once with a fly fishing guide to learn the ropes.

Most use #8/9 line rods, fast sinking lines, short heavy leaders and chartreuse Clousers.

There are plenty of stripers in both rivers right now but the Feather is COLD running at 55/56 degrees mainly because of the Yuba's inflow. What this does is keep the stripers and shad in a more lethargic condition to go chase any fly or lure. The season will last a lot longer here though.

Over on the Sac the water is warmer, lots of stripers have already spawned, but the action has been good with lots of new fish still coming in.
