Anyone know any new info on rd.48? still locked up? keys available? It used to be my favorite spot.

Road 48 is still closed. I miss that spot.

When it was $35 for a key, I was very happy to pay it.

I hate to even go there, but -- if legal recourse seemed practical, after viewing all the land titles and levee legalese and everything -- would people be willing to donate to a cause to restore some kind of easement for private access?

This has been done when landowners tried to shut off access to kayakers, as at the Rumsey bridge take-out on Cache Creek. I'm wondering if there'd be any support for doing the same at Rd. 48, if it's all practical.
