doug's first mahi

Aloha, took Doug Howard out for some ono, but didn't find any. We did find a bouy loaded with mahi and Doug got his first ahi and mahi on the fly. Action was non-stop, so we went out two days in a row, got 20 mahi total.

The water was nice and we had nonstop action on pink poppers. I hooked an ono at the bouy on bait and it smoked my drag, but fishing without wire, it cut the line.

Doug had a good time and I was busy gaffing his fish. He wants to come back in July when the big ahi show up.

I hope this action keeps going, it has been a wonderful spring for mahi here in Hawaii.
