Fished the Feather River today from 6 A.M. till 1:30 P.M. with Kiene's board member Ben C. We found 54 degree water with 18" to 24" of visibility. Fooled a few eager fish within the first 15 minutes and then it slowed to about a fish per hour. The stripers are in the system, and we had a great time casting for them, but it was pretty slow. If we were bait dunking, conventional anglers we would have gone home with "limits". But being C&R Fly fisherman we were hoping for a few more. We ended up with 6 fish, all but one were hard fighting 4# males. Nice weather and it was better than working-It should improve in the coming weeks.
