I need to get out this weekend. Does anyone know how well the Truckee could be fishing by Sunday. Weather looks snowy and cold through sat, but then sunny and 50 by sunday. Would love to get some rises to BWOs.

Any other options?? Feather for spring run?

Flynoob;
Bit of a haul for a day right now.
Today was a classic backsider from the east.
Colder/cloudy/breezy. I'll be out Sun.
There is a pause......(be the bug).......before the ants.
Buy them, or tye them, but be field ready......1-2 weeks. (Who know deez tings?)

What type of fly can I get to replicate the carpenter ants up there?

RFG, most shops in the hills have a sz 10-12 ant.
Essentially a BIG black ant with wings.
You can fish an ant all summer, but the winged version is around for 1-2 weeks.
A parachute style is a good idea.
I tye one that is easy (3 step).
Check my blog for a pic in fishy foods.
Won't see them till it warms a little more.
