.....in the Lower American River.

Especially in the low flows we are having now. I think they should start holding up in the lower River from Watt Avenue down stream to Paradise Beach/River Park area.

Switch rods are the best way to go if you are wading for Shad.

Maybe we can get our local "Shad Master" Jeff Ching to put on a demo for us on how to set up a Switch rod for Shad and how to cast and fish for them.

I was very lucky to have been able to fish with Jeff on evening last year. You need to see him casting which he makes look effortless and the distance is unreal.



We have nice St.Croix Switch rods for $249.

We have reels from $35 up.......any old 8 weight reel will work.

A Rio Skagit Short head is $49.95

Then after the Shad season is over you will be ready for Fall Steelheading...
