The catching was slow but the kind, engaging people I met made for a memorable trip. Steelhead fisherman should take a page from the generous sharing folks that roam that lake.

Hey!!! A geetar playin', harmonica blowin' fly fisher!!! That's really cool. 8) BTW, another batch of good photo's. Not sure what it is about Pyramid. :confused: Whether it's the granduer or flat out barren landscape that appeals to me so much. Even after all of the development surrounding the res., or all of the fisherman that have taken over, I still like to go up there. 8)

I recall a trip up there during winter (February) of 1981 when it was c-c-cold, ice on everything and blowing snow like grains of sand. We caught a bunch of what would be considered small these days. On the drive out to the lake, out near the Winnemucca Ranch turnoff, I took a look out the right side window and saw an Antelope pacing my VW Van. He kept it up for a short distance, then sped up, crossed the road in front of us and bounded off into the brush.... That was really something. :D
