For those of you who use wig hair and have been looking for olive, it's right in front of your eyes. This is why I wanted to know about mixing colors to make an olive color. What happened was I found some olive FW ink in olive and used it along with a couple drops of black to darken it up, but as you can see, I need to add maybe one more squirt of black to make it a shade darker. I also need to saturate more and get deeper inside the bundle to make the color all blend together. I have found a source for snow white wig hair, since no shops in the area carry or ever heard of pure white hair. There is also a pearlescent black that I'm going to try and see what the hair looks like.

Going to dye another bundle tomorrow in the day light and add a little more black. This hair makes for some great looking bait fish patterns. I also took some orange and olive, blended it together in a dubbing brush and made a crawdad fly. Still working on that project

Jay, very nice. I wish I could get wig hair here in Anchorage. I spoke with Mike Reiser at length at the Alaska Sportsmen's show on Sunday. He was tying while we talked and he was using wig hair. Since I can't get it here I am just using Farrar blends. Phil

what colors are you or do you need? You can buy on line from www.doctorlocks.com and order the braided wig hair. or I can send you the colors you need.
You can't beat the price, around $2.50 to $3.25 per pack. It's around 4' in length. I also add stands of angel hair to my ties, you'll see some in a couple weeks
