This is a rare, early example of what many consider to be the best graphite dry fly rod ever made - the G904. Neat, golden wraps and matching hardware on the downlocking slide band reel seat. This rod has been very lightly fished and is in great condition. Rod comes in a green cordura rod/reel case with built in divider. The serial number, G90-4-1621, proves how early this rod was made in Harry Wilson's original shop in San Francisco. $250 + shipping and paypal.

I am going to say that this is the most famous Scott rod ever made.

This was the first 9' #4 line 2 piece graphite made and it was super light too.

Blanks were designed by Harry Wilson and Larry Kenney and then built by Joe Fisher.

Cortland had to come out with the WF4F Peach 444 line just for this rod because before this there were no WF4F.

In those days a 6 weight rod was the standard trout but the 5 weight soon took that spot with the onset of the graphite rods.

In the 1970s when Hat Creek and Fall River were the really big deal in Nor Cal for trophy spring creeks this rod was "King"......

People used a Hardy made click-n-pawl fly reel on them. Could have been a Scientific Angler 'System' reel (made by Hardy) or an Orvis 'CFO' (made by Hardy) or a 'Light Weight' series Hardy.

Advanced anglers like Hal Janssen put custom made counter balances on these reels so they would spin more smoothly when fighting a fast jumping wild trout on 7x tippet.

Hardy use to make some nice nickel silver counter balances too.
