Most of the Stripers will be headed up north to around Colusa, California to spawn this Spring, April/May.

Not too many fly fishing guides up that way.

Steve Santucci and Maury Hatch will be guding fly fishers up there......you can Google them.

Not sure if Tony Buzolich is still guiding....... Tony?

I always feel May is the top month but with the low water it might be early this year.

In lower flows the Stripers usually spawn below Colusa.

If you have not fished the spawning migration I would highly recomend it.

Mid-week is a good idea.......Jet boats are the norm.

At times you can witness the Stripers spawning on the surface, even in the day time.

Mouth of the Feather River is another hot spot this time of year.....Stripers and American Shad.

Don't forget the Shad run up on the Sacramento River, which is still the best place for them......April/May/June.

Nice lower flows this Spring so go get em.....

Last year I was ill for a good part of the season and this year has really started slow but things are beginning to happen. This fresh rain has gotten the rivers going and brought some new fish up so it should really pick up soon.
