Any small pond can have bass and panfish in it and now with some warm weather they should be feeding up well and eating flies.

I think afternoon-evening is best in the spring.....when it warms up a bit and the light level goes down in the PM for top water.

I just got back from fishing bass & panfish in flordia for 6 weeks.

I never got tired of it but I only fished top water.

Used a Sage "Blue Gill" rod and line, it was killer for throwing small poppers.

I like "pond" fishing but the Delta in May for top water is really some of the best we have.

Lots of people are getting ready to head for Kelesy Bass Ranch now too.

In the winter you can go to Angler's Inn on El Salto Reservoir out of Mazatlan, Mexico for the best LMB fishing I know about. It is fairly close for us and fairly inexpensive....under $2000.Many of our staff go annually now.

Sexy looking flies Gregg

I fish only top water for LMB because I like those surface explosions.

May is a great month in CA for top water.

Early and late with low light level is good.

Can't wait to go to the Delta.
