Below is a post by "hardy reels" on the spey pages site. This is a great cause! You
can vote every day until May 15. Costs you nothing unless you also want to donate.
Guys - let that gal in your life know you're doing this and it might just pay ahead.
Thanks, and best,
Larry S

Casting For Recovery;
Casting For Recovery is a charity program that introduces women who have survived breast cancer to fly fishing. In many cases the ladies are devastated by the experience with cancer and are in need of something to take their minds away from the battle with the disease.

Everyone here knows what I know; that nothing clears and refreshes the mind like time on a river or creek. Casting For Recovery has a network of volunteers across America who help to host Fly Fishing Retreats for women who are interested in trying the river as a place of refuge. But there are expenses.......

There is an effort that involves internet voting that will help the program to win a $50,000 grant to fuel these retreats underway right now. I am providing this link ........... http://www.pinkwell.org/voting/ and I hope you will see fit to use it to register to vote for this most worthy cause.

In order to vote people must enter their e-mail address, that's all. After doing so the home page sends a 'voting link' to the in box of the new supporter and they use it to cast the daily vote. I have been doing this since the challenge began and there is 'no spam, junk mail or anything else associated with this registration' none at all. It is what it sounds like, a contest to win support and awareness for the survivors of the disease.

The organization is on the very top of the page right under a fund raising promotion offering a book for sale. Don't worry about the book, The vote is what we need. after today you'll have to scroll down to find the vote button and you can vote once a day until May 15.

This is one of the most worth while things I have ever tried to promote, please take the few seconds to register and to vote this cause every day.

Thank You,

Ard Stetts

My wife participated in the program and attended one of their clinics at Clearwater Lodge in 2007. She still raves about how wonderful it was, and we continue to support the cause. We encourage you to support them, too.

If any of you have questions about the program feel free to contact me.

BTW she became a flyfisher.

I was a river escort for that one year, it was great to help the ladies out on the water. And with my wife as a breast cancer survivor there is not much I wouldn't do to help a great cause. The Granite Bay Flycasters volunteers every year with 2 of the clinics.

Scott,
Thanks for sharing. Hope the wife is doing well. I think that we all have someone
in our family, or close circle of friends, that have experienced this dreaded disease. Even
affects men! Get involved! If Casting for Recovery is not your choice, there are
many other programs that you can vote for in this "competition." Click on the
link. Thanks.
Best to all,

Darian for the reminder. I have a post-it note near the computer and also keep the
mail link to "Pinkwell.vote.org" near the top of my mail page. Actually, any of the
organizations in the running are worthy of our attention. The Casting for
Recovery group just strikes a resonant chord with many of us.
Thanks to all and
Best,
Larry S

You can, and should, vote daily until May 15. Thanks again.

Dave,
Thanks for your support. Mother's Day coming up. A great present to her is to tell her of
your support for a cause like this. That, and a trip to Jareds!
Dave, how'd your Mammoth opener go? Hope it's a great season for you.
Best,
Larry S

Had this confused with another program. Got it straight now. Voting every day until the 15th.

Just one more week to vote! Casting for Recovery doesn't seem to be in the top
five; but, maybe the last surge will do it. At any rate, some deserving program
will benefit. Thanks for your participation and your indulgence with my repeated
pleas. You can vote thru May 15.
Best to all,
Larry S
