If you care to know the details, feel free to PM me. I am not going to post my observations or take on the meeting on a public forum until I have a chance to gather my thoughts and ponder a bit.

I will call or PM those that I've been in contact with of late regarding HR 1837 and other water issues.

I will say this..... I learned a ton tonight.

Some of his responses to questions were televised in the late news last night.... I wasn't impressed either way but I'm not sure it's realistic to expect a politician to take on anything or say anything controversial during an election year.... :-|

After trying to write up my thoughts on last night's meeting, I've decided to narrow it down to a simple observation that I believe says it all......

250 to 300 in attendence....

10 minutes of the 60 minutes alloted for Q&A went to discuss:

Confirmation of the actual birth place of President Obama. Enough said.

Please make every attempt to join in on Congressional Town Hall Meetings, if anything, to RAISE THE BAR!

So without getting too political, I'm guessing that there wasn't a lot of meaningful intelligent discussion on the more important issues. My big question to you would be do you think that your attendance was productive to the overall meeting? I'll be honest that I've not viewed these "meetings" with a ton of optimism from the start. Nor do I have much confidence that Mcclintock actually would hear any of my concerns anyways; since I write him all the time and have yet to get one response indicating that he actually read any of it (always just a standard invitation to a town hall meeting or one of his conference calls).

Well either way, good for you to give it a shot and thanks for sharing your experiences with us all.

Hi JB,

Your spot on.

To add to your comment about lack of response, there were several people that spoke up saying that their letters and inquiries have not been replied to as well. Their inquiry was dodged or somebody quickly stood up and said that get replies.... of course, it has to do with the issue....

I knew full well that I was headed into a 'rally' for the party type meeting, but I was still surprised at just how much hype and rallying goes on! And so it goes, the isolation effect continues.
