Yesterday went for half a day to a pay fishery that is in the middle of nowhere about 40 miles east of Klamath Falls. The lake is about 150 acres. My first time ever for pay fishing.
An wonderful blue bird day especially for March in eastern Oregon. The three of us must have hooked 30 fish and landed about 20 on both leeches and chironomids. All of mine were on chironomids. The typical fish was about 22" and my neighbor and I each took one of ten pounds. Mine pictured below. I did catch a pig of over 13 pounds but did not want to take it out of the water for a picture. Only other angler there was Denny Rickards. A very nice guy and willing to share information.
A ton of wildlife on the trip as we saw wild turkeys, swans, bald eagles, golden eagles, deer, pronghorn antelope, a coyote and a herd of about 20 elk.
