Excerpt taken from Rep. McClintock's Website:

Mr. Chairman:

We are all aware of the human and economic tragedy that occurred in California's Central Valley in 2009 and 2010 when hundreds of billions of gallons of contracted water were diverted to the ocean in the name of the Delta Smelt.......

Sounds kind of funny...... water diverted to the ocean...... oh my, heaven forbid that any water flow to the ocean.

Just another career politician......

Water flowing to the ocean is characterized as a diversion  Interesting how terminology gets spun to make an act of nature seem like an un-natural event. :\\

Its time for the broader sporting community to tell Republican legislators that we vote and we don't appreciate this huge water grab by valley agribusiness interests.

The hypocrisy of "conservative" Republicans like Tom McClintock to vote for a bill that essentially takes a public asset, our water, and deeds it to private for profit corporations. Not only that we send it to them along taxpayer financed waterways.

Unemployment in the valley was not caused by water shortages, it was caused by an implosion in the housing market. Agriculture is doing just fine.
