I have four Orvis DXR reels that I don't need and am looking to sell, two 5/6's and two 7/8's. None of them have been lined or fished, but all have some minor wear from storage and handling over many years. Three even have Orvis tags still on them from when they were marked down and closed out.

These bullet-proof reels retailed for $260-$280 when Orvis was still distributing them. I'm asking $70 for each of the 5/6's and $85 for each of the 7/8's, plus shipping and Paypal fees if necessary.

All reels are sold.

Pictures of the last 7/8 are up here:

Thanks for looking,
Matt

Do you have pictures. Are these the Lamson version?

I have pictures of one of the 7/8's up here:

Not sure if they were made by Lamson, but it certainly looks quite similar to the LP series.

If you send me your email address, I can send pictures of the 5/6's and the other 7/8. They all look about the same cosmetically though; a few minor edge scrapes and wear from storage, but three of the four still have tags attached through the spool as proof that they haven't ever been lined or fished.

Cheers,
Matt

Okay, I did a little bit of digging and it looks like the earlier DXR's with the blue lettering were made by Lamson, and the later DXR's (the kind I have) were made by Ross.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to mull over whether I really need another 5/6 reel.

Great site by the way. Amazing Sierra photography.

Thanks for the props. It's my opinion that there's nothing quite like sight-fishing on a gorgeous high mountain lake, and my goal for the blog is to share some of this feeling with others.
