I know people hammer huge strippers out here on bait. But the water seems really murky. Has anyone ever fly fished this water or know anything about the area. Also is water clarity typically a big issue when fly fishing for stripers?

Don't worry about clarity. Juice your fly. It'll be just like fishing bait....

Actually, you could send a PM to Tony Buzolich. He used to live down there and haas fished that area for Stripers a bunch. :)

Good luck.... :D

Mike Costello's book breaks the Delta into at least four quadrants and covers them quite well even as far as seasons of the year....Great resource....

I have fished Montezuma/Suisun Sloughs for forty years and have limited sucess with the fly due to the poor visibilty and depth.Lately there has been a lack of fish even with the bait guys.Napa River a better bet, or Honker Bay.

The Striped Bass is very smart... They heard about the proposed Regs and most of them have decided to Relocate back to their NATIVE East Coast...It is unfortunate for US but they have feelings Too....

Yeah, but once they hear that the F &G Commission rejected the Reg. changes and The President of the Commission declared that striped bass are now NATIVE Californians they'll be back in droves!
