Kaufmann's Streamborn Fly Shops were the top of the world in the Northwest for over 3 decades. They had 3 fly shops in Oregon and Washington, a big mail order catolog busines, famous international travel service, top local instructors and guides.

Many famous people in the sport today got their start in the industry by working for Kaufmann's.

I don't know the entire story but lots of people today who are key players use to work for Kaufmann's.

Some that come to mind are Dec Hogan, John Hazel, Kerry Burkheimer, Marc Bale, Jamie Lyle, Jerry Swanson, George Cook, Randy Stetzer......

I was chatting with Kerry Burkheimer at the ISE show in Sacramento and we talked about this phenomena.

I told Kerry it would be wild to get a big group photo of all these guys today. He thought it was a cool idea.

Many these guys worked in the shop, taught fly fishing schools and guided for the shop.
