I looking at drifting the Lower Stan this week and I'm looking for info regarding takeouts below Knights Landing. I've taken out at Orange Blossom before but I can't remember the lenght of the drift. What other options are there? I'm looking to drop in at about 0900 and finish by 1500.

Has anyone out there done this drift in the last couple of years? Any big strainers or new hazards?

Thanks
Dave

For info about the Lower Stan I would check with my good friend Bob Nakagawa @ Sierra Anglers Fy Shop in Modesto, CA.

From Knights Ferry it's an all day Drift to Orange Blossom. Horseshoe or Honolulu are about half that....

If we end up drifting on Friday I'll post a report.

My buddy couldn't make the trip, so I didn't drift the river. I fished up near Goodwin Dam instead. Looks like the river is still getting hammered by poachers. Lots of bait jars and worm containers on the banks.

It fished well for smallish bows, nymphing and on drys. Here is a video of the midge feeding frenzy through a dirty lens.
