The Patgonia Company is behind removing old dams that are no longer viable, just keeping fish from migrating.

This is something that all of us fly fishers can get behind.....

They definitely have a passion for dam removal and its a great thing.
The one close to all of us in Ventura, we would love to see gone, is the Matilija dam.
It will be a great day, if and when, they finally get this down in the right way.

Here's a cool video of some local graffiti that showed up on the dam.

Once removed, maybe we can get the run down here to rebound to what it once was.
Probably not in my lifetime, but maybe my son, daughter, or their children will look back one day and thank us.

Matilija Coalition has a lot more information on that specific dam removal.
Unfortunately, not many updates for a while as it has been in a holding pattern.

Paul, that video was amazing. I've never seen that, i would give my best rod to have been able to see it done. Totally cool.

For us older guys here this is pretty unbelievable.......

When I was young I never imagined any dams would ever be taken down.

Watching this happen is pretty emotional for me.
