These are pretty cool rods........should be fairly collectable too.
They look and feel like bamboo but are made of synthetic materials so they are not effected by mosture like bamboo rods.
Back in the day we were a Powell dealer but we never did carry these rods, I don't know why we didn't?

They are beautiful rods. I am lucky enough to have one. A 7 foot 3-4-5 for small streams I got at the Nevada City Fly Shop in the early 90's (when the shop was new)
Interesting to see what they are valued now....

Jimmie....I'd love to know what you paid for that Hex rod new back in the early 90s. I dont know what Walt was charging for them back then. These Hexagraph rods are a real niche market. I've sold them for as much as $700 (for a little 3-4-5 like yours) and for as little as $350 (for a big 9'6" 7-8-9wt to a guy in Quebec who chases Atlantic Salmon). They are really neat rods and a very unique bit of the Powell story. My personal hexs are both on the very early very dark green blanks. He started those when he was in Quincy and both my keeper hexagraphs are from that shop. It's hard to get into a new Hexagraph now for less than $700.

Any takers at $350 on the 8'6" rod? The other is sold.
