Another old fly fisher Terry Hellekson passes.

Terry Hellekson and his son Stan were the founders of Fly Fishing Specialties, orgially in Old Roseville. Their business years ago was mostly wholesale fly tying materials and fly fishing books.

I can remember driving out there back in the 1970s to pick up a big load of books and materials and to visit with them and save the freight. I think Stan was a teenager back then.

Terry was a good guy. Dyed up some pretty cool materials for me "back in the day." Always enjoyed going to the old shop. Stan was just a young pup in those days.

Never met Terry but I knew Stan for a time. Visited the shop in old town Roseville a few times, then the new location off I-80/Antelope. Great shop. My sympathies to Stan and the family....

I tied many flies for the shop back in the days..... It was one of my normal stops on the way to Pyramid or Reno.
