went out a few days ago on foot thru the woods near the new house. Found some really cooperative red bellied woodpeckers!

on a side note, Im starting to take some stuff over to the new house. The first thing I heard while unloading was a cardinal!! On my way out I stopped halfway down the driveway in the woods and called to him. I was greeted by 4! 2 males and 2 females!!
I spent somemore time calling birds and was overwhelmed by everything that came in. Cant wait! 4 more weeks til occupancy.

Got a couple flight shots. cant figure out how this species got its name.

Wish the quality of this photo was better but I thought it was cool anyway. These two were allways together and they look like males. brothers??

This Pileated kept responding to my call with a fly-by.

Very nice! I really do like the shot of one flying and one "roosting", very cool. What camera, lens, etc. are you using, please? Thanks, Brett

Hi Brett. thanks for the kind words. Im using a Nikon D7000 with a 18-270mm Tamron lens. I really need a longer lens but just cant afford it now.
