I grew up in the Seattle area and every so many years the rivers would overflow. I remember watching the salmon swim across the road during those years. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

I think those are Chum salmon.

Those vids have been around for a few years...YouTube "salmon crossing road"... they do it every year. That one was just the most recent...some of them show some serious numbers in the roadway.

Thanks Bill! I wish I could take credit for that photo but it was sent to me by a fly fishing friend on Facebook that lives in Oregon! It is a Coho salmon and yes it was released back to the river after getting to the other side of the road!!!!

A MAJOR CHANGE TO A WET WEATHER PATTERN STARTS MID WEEK AND
CONTINUES INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK FOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE JET
STREAM AND A MOISTURE PLUME ARE AIMED TO BRING A SERIES OF STORM SYSTEMS
INTO INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THIS WILL BRING PERIODS OF
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS
AND COOLER TEMPERATURES.

SNOW LEVELS WILL BE INITIALLY LOW BUT WILL GRADUALLY RISE THROUGH
THE WEEK. RAIN AND SNOW ARE EXPECTED TO START OVER PARTS OF SHASTA
COUNTY LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY BEFORE SPREADING
SOUTH. SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOWFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG I-5 NORTH
OF REDDING ON WEDNESDAY. ACCUMULATING SNOW FOR THE WESTERN SLOPES
