Great story Bill. If all the stories on the Gualala were that positive...
Hopefully, we'll get some rain and some of us will be able to get up there and "test the lineup", so to speak.

It is very beautiful over there on the North Coast......

Used to be amazed at some of the fish that went up Alder Creek. I'm thinking
that might be in one of the North Coast MLPA's now. What it must have been like to fish
the streams in that area in the 40's and 50's! I even got to fish the 10-Mile River one year.
Had to get a permit from the timber folks.
Great Gualala story, Bill. Thanks.
Best,
Larry S

Around 1970 when I worked at the old bait-n-tackle shop in West Sacramento an old friend of mine and Sacramento City Fire Fighter, Jack MacClaughlin, told me that if I could catch a 10 pound female Steelhead on a fly within a few mile of the ocean it would change my life.

I was lucky to get to fish over there with some of the Sacramento old timers in the 1970s and did catch some of those wild beautiful fish.

I wish everyone could just momentarily hook a really hot fresh wild female Steelhead......right out of the saltwater.

I think I am more of a fall Steelheader now.
