Ducks go on the backburner, I'm back in the uplands.

This is Cash, a 2yr old started English Pointer and newest member of the family.

After basic yardwork is taken care of we're off to the hills looking for quail.

He's tiny for a Pointer but packed with the right insincts. His pointing style just blew my mind. It didn't hurt that he's a sweetheart too.

What a face! Alert and intelligent. I once had a Springer that looked at me like that.

Thanks guys, it's been a long time since I've trained a youngster.

Darian, if you need any tips on finding the best sunny spot to nap in or maybe some advice on inconspicuous but deadly ways of begging table scraps just let me know and you can borrow Duke for a day or two.;)

Charlie, I'll give you a call when Cash is ready. I hope he can hunt
the last couple of weeks of the season but that depends on how he develops. I'm pretty confident he'll be up for it but some things just can't be rushed.

Spent Saturday morning in Oakdale surrounded by Pointers and Setters, plus one of the finest Black Labs I've ever seen. Pure heaven.

Gun Dog by Richard Wolters is one of the best books ever written on dogs. He even shows you how to get them to pick up their own poop.

NEVER !! LOL

It was a good year for ducks for me. the boat made a BIG different , but everything is frozen over now even the rivers . Until this year my lab had only retrieved three ducks . This year i got 5 limits of Gadwall in a row then everything froze . Jake my lab did a great Job. I only F.Fished three times , the river were VERY high , then dove , grouse , deer , elk and then duck season started ,all back to back .

Nice dog Ed !!!!!!!!!!!!!
