Garbage pile on the American River

I ride my bike on the bike trail that goes right next to the Nimbus Dam, so i been watching this garbage pile grow, and with a good salmon run on, it brought the crowds of fishermen into this area. The park people lock the gate into the basin this year so everyone has to pack their stuff into this area, and not everone packs it back out. The park people put 3 trash cans next to the opening in the fence on the north side by Nimbis Dan for the trash....BUT....some of these fishermen won't carry it 50ft. to the trash can. As a fisherman i belive in pack it in pack it out....i guess it makes me feel bad to see other fishermen doing this to our American River.

WOW - that's just disgustingly incredible! I, too, believe in the pack it in, pack it out theory. In fact, my favorite uncle always taught me to take out more than you bring in! I really despise selfish fisherman who don't take care of the environment from which they benefit :angry:

a ton of irony with that no camping sign displayed in the last picture 8 anglers lined up elbow to elbow. Of course, I'm sure each person is slowly working their way down the run :)

Somebody who lives near there, be a saint and go clean up that trash [-o<
