Looking to plan a trip to fish the White River in Arkansas in February. Any info on guides, lodges, etc would be very helpful. Thank you!
No first hand knowledge about this river, but here's a useful post from another board: http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/entry.php?347-White-River-Arkansas-looking-for-info
Best of luck.

Gumper:
Google "Arkansas Department of Tourism" or some such thing. They will send
you a packet in short order. Lots of big browns in those tailwaters.

I've never fished the big tailwaters of the main stem White, but had a chance to fish the North Fork of the White via canoe way back on my 18th birthday. What a beautiful stream! Lots of native rainbows and browns of moderate size. I do remember seeing some HUGE browns in the deeper pools that we pursued with streamers to no avail. Southern Missouri/Northern Arkansas is an amazing region to fish that is truly unique to the Midwest. And yes, those are McCloud 'bows!
