Bought a Simms G-3 rain jacket from Kiene's about 3 or 4 years ago and the zipper has driven me crazy right from the start. No matter how carefully I'd zip up, the damned thing managed to get stuck more than 50% of the time. Although Simms gear is expensive, it's usually top quality and I was sorely disappointed and often pissed-off as I tried to get out of the damned thing after a day of fishing.
I loved the jacket, but that zipper was definitely a design flaw. (No inference that this was in any way Kiene's fault.)
Not one to complain, I made due for years with the problem. Finally, it wouldn't unzip while I was in AK in Sept. I had to try pulling it apart at the collar and broke off some of the teeth getting it unzipped. Sent it to Simms and they're replacing the jacket at no cost. Good for them for standing behind their product.
If I'd known it would be this easy, I'd have sent it back long ago.
