Don't think Kiene's has rod building supplies - if they do let me know. If they don't any recommendations on where to get supplies- locally if preferrable; need snake guides, tips, epoxy, et al for three rods.....thanks.

Jason -

Not sure if they have rod building products in stock, but I do know that Raptor Rods in Chico does. Give Jim Clarkson a call. Phone is 530-894-2062

Most fly shops have gotten out of rod building.

Years ago it was a good part of our business but today you need to "go big or go home."

I think if someone wanted to go really big in rod building supplies and custom rod building in a big city like Sacramento they would need a serious retail location and have a good online store it could be a viable business.

We are talking about a $100,000 just to get started in inventory and more like $500,000 to be in the top ten.

Today there are so many different kind of guides and reel seats that we would never have the right ones.

Most rod builders, but a few, are hobbyist....

*I think the low end imported fly rods that at $100 are pretty good and the unconditional lifetime warranty on fly rods pretty much killed rod building for the average angler.

**Rod building supplies have gone mostly online:
