Hooked and landed 3 wild fish of 17, 18 and 20"s this AM. Two on an egg pattern and one on an ice nymph.

Nice clean fish Gordon! Do you feel this year is better than previous years? If so, why do you think? Sure looks like you are hooking into a lot of fish....and consistently!

Eric,

This is the best early season summer run I have seen in at least five years. I don't know what the reason for the good year. Also a much higher percentage of 23+" fish. So far I have hooked 35 adult fish and landed 20.

It is only a little over 5 hours up there on I-5 and I know that Gordon would show you around.

That's great to hear Gordon. Keep those pics coming...love it! If I can't catch them myself at the moment, I still like living vicariously. :)

Great to hear, heading up Fri to the cabin and fish the Klamath, probably head up to the Rogue a day. Might have to tie up some of those nymphs. :D

Gordon hows the salmon run shaping up this year?

Jay,

Looks like an excellent run for salmon. They were 10-14 days later than normal. May go to Gold Beach and fly fish for chinooks and silvers at the mouth.

Gordon:
Congrats on the continued run.
Used to fish the lower Rogue in late Aug in front of the plywood plant and had a lot of fun
with 1/2 pounders just upstream of Lobster Creek. What a beautiful river! Deer, bear,
and otter seen on a regular basis. Oh yes, the mail boats!
Best and keep us informed,
Larry S
