Took some time off to vacation at Almanor and get in some fishing. Very small chironomids brought up a few rainbows, but most were small. There were some big browns chasing smelt, and I was fortunate to connect!
Also, there is a great lake near Almanor that holds some impressive brookies, and they stole the show. Most were 16-18", with some great dry fly action!! (Sorry, I can't bring myself to give out the name.)
West Almanor has perhaps the best bike trail anywhere! The views just keep on coming.
The colors along Deer Creek were spectacular too.
October is certainly a great month to get lost in the Sierras! Hard to get back to work.
