I just bought this line. Imho this line is going to be a game changer for winter steelhead and fall salmon.
It fishes alot slower than a floater. i was using a type 6 tip. t8 thru 14 tips sank to fast
part of this is because the river is low.

Years ago we fished ~30 foot shooting heads on single handed fly rods in many different sink-rates for steelhead and salmon, especially in the tide water of our Nor Cal rivers.

I think they use Scandi heads in different sink-rates in Europe.

I think in some cases it will be very good.

Especially in broad slow even currents and in very cold water conditions.

It should give you a better contact with your fly.

my big concern with using this line is I don't think you will be able to mend it much once cast and starting the swing - not many places I can think of where mending does not come into play

my first impression was that as well. the thing i noticed about it was how slow it went thru the currents. Possible making it unnecessary to mend in certain circumstances. Where this line will be good is in cold winter flows where you need your presentation to be slow as possible. There are several spots where I have seen fish caught on gear that is to fast to effectively fish with a fly this line might make it possible.

Can't find it listed on the SA site...are they generally available?

I've cast full-sinking scandi lines. Definitely takes some getting used to. This sounds like a totally different beast.

What is the line color?
