I just bought a Scott a3 1108 switch rod. I have a few questions about what type of line should I get. I was wondering if I get a rio switch line, could I put a t-11 tip on it or would that not work? I am new to switch/Spey casting and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Here in the south, Spey casting is not very popular yet and I do not have any resources near here. I am going to be fishing for stripers in a large river with medium flows and possibly chasing some stripers in our large lakes from a boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think I would be looking at the Rio Outbound (standard 37' and the short 30') series for overhead casting on lakes and the surf.

Outbounds can work on rivers too but many would use a Skagit head on the rivers with sink-tips too.

A shooting head system with a running line would be another way to go.

That rod is very powerful so you need enough grain weight in what ever you use to load it up.
