For any of you that are thinking about heading out for some river stripers up here,,,,Take Caution! On the Feather, the Yuba, and the Sac there are more sand bars and snags popping up than anyone can keep track of. Imagine trying to buzz through this mine field at 0'dark-thirty, but this is what we've been doing to get to some of the better water.

Today started out a little slow with only a couple of small fish as we headed up. Jim really had the hot rod today and had six or seven in the boat before I got my first hook-up. Then, a big,,,,,ugh,,,squawfish for my first grab. Then a small schoolie striper, then a REALLY BIG GRAB,,,,,, and an even BIGGER squawfish :( Damn! We keep moving and picking up one here and there but no big schools. Overall, the average fish today was larger than days past with most in the keeper size range, which ain't too bad,,,, with the big fish today weighing in at 11lbs. on the boga. Not too bad a day:)

Hey Tony,.... A fish is a fish. Squawfish are fun to catch.... Not much fight, tho.... Reminds me, Squaw Bread is great with some PB&J on it. :smirk:

Good job on the Stripers, BTW.... :D
