I still think that refusing to sell is poor business sense. Much better to sell to them at a price comensurate with their resale price. The shopkeeper can then afford to restock much more equipment.

I've said it before. Fly shops (or any businesses) that don't take advantage of market trends are shooting themselves in the foot.
Maximize profits and you can hire more staff, provide better service and pass the savings on to your loyal customers. The people who keep you in business year after year will understand. When the cigar craze was in full swing prices went through the roof. Smart tobacconists charged what they could but made deals for longtime customers. The fad died and guess who stuck around?
