I have been really having fun with my pond lately and all the Dragonflies buzzing around. Today I noticed a female laying eggs and hoped to get a couple photos. Amazingly after a few minutes she went back to her business and I got a few good shots. The last shot shows how important it was to her to continue her legacy as there were a few predators about. Didn't see much of her in the afternoon so I wonder if these two had anything to do with it.
Thanks for looking....Craig

A nice spot to lay some eggs

Will this be her last day!?

p.s. anybody else having issues with photobucket? I resized these and a couple from before and it takes a couple hours for it to resize. Meanwhile I get a bit of pixelation untill it does.

Really cool! Especially like the 2nd shot. What camera/lens are u using? Do the damsels eat the dragon eggs?

Craig:
Great patience is rewarded. Outstanding shots. Back in June, I was taking a
cigar break on a Michigan stream-side and watching the dragons capture
caddis. Had several land near me to devour their prey. Better than a science
fiction movie.
Look forward to more of your work.

Thanks guys,

You are so right Larry especially with insects. They always seem to have a favorite perch.

Ed I was hoping it might be a little harder to see the monsters below. My bass and bluegill were really interested in her following her all over the pond.

Jbird I use an old Nikon D70 and for this one I used a 100- 300 tamaron zoom. Sometime she landed so close I had to move back. I wish i could upgrade but I must wait for now. I have a Pentax optio for when I get near real water:)
