Billy and I took his jet up the Feather a little way last night to check out the smallmouth. Water is up a bit, colder, and murkier, we think to help out the salmon coming up the system. Never the less we found some willing small fish on pole dancers and bubble heads. It's beautiful water full of sweeping sand bars and meandering logjams; perfect smallie territory. I imagine we'll be back at it fairly often as it is supposed to be prime all the way through October.
