Looking to go on a spur of the moment road trip with the wife this weekend (Thursday through Tuesday). Would like some suggestions on places in Northern California to visit/see where fishing is also available. Looking at, for example, heading down the Klamath all the way to the coast. Not asking for any secret locations; just general information on places that might be good to hit on a road trip.

Hey Grant,.... it may be a bit early for anything on the Klamath (with the exception of the lower river). However, Eureka is a nice city to visit and there're are some great places to stay between there and Crescent City. If you're camping, there's a great campground at Patrick's Point. If you're looking for B&B's, there's a bunch of 'em in that area. It's been a while for me up there but I never ran into a bad B&B there. Expensive during the summer.... I'm sure some of the guys who have been up there more recently than I will chime in to offer some advice....

Hope you and the wife have a great trip.... :D
