I saw the Lower American River @ 500 cfs once a long time ago. I was wading above the Watt Avenue Bridge up in the clay banks. I could wade anywhere in the river at that flow.

It will be down to 1,000 on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 to work on the fish screen at the hatchery.

This is a good time to be out on the river if you want to see some structure...

In the late summer of 1977 the flow got to 250 cfs. 1976-77 were the two driest back to back years in modern times.
