On the A.R. this morning. Tried top-water again for the first 40 minutes- Nothing ! First light,` fish on, Dink, but the skunk was off. Took turns getting a fish here and fish there, no schools. Went to a spot where some nice fish have been hanging around and got bit by a nice 8 to 10 # fish, had it close to the boat and it made another run and broke off. Not happy ! Checked my knot to see what happened only to find my perfection loop still in tact. The eye of the hook either broke or my 15 # flouro slipped through the crimp, a first for me. Fished for 3.5 hours and had 13 fish to the boat.
I had the pleasure of sharing the water with, 9 year old FF phenom, Miguel Cory. His dad is a local Captn. and he and his younger brother Westley (6) get to fish quite a bit around the California. Miguel, at 9 years of age, can fish a 9 wt with sinking line better than most adults and regularly keeps up with "the boys" as far as fish counts go. Well he got the biggest fish to the boat today, although a few of us adults hooked larger fish (pathetic that I am making excuses for being whooped by a 9 year old) he landed his and it sure looks nice on him.

Hey Galvans- this is a brochure shot !

Nice fish. How big do you think it was? Sorry about the mystery breakoff, always sucks losing a fish and a fly at the same time.
