Anybody fish from shore in this area? What is available this time of year? I was planning on taking my Xi3 8 wt., this weekend thursday friday and saturday. Looking for ideas for flies, I'll probably have a variety of clouser's I've tied but wondering about other options? PM's are ok if you're not wanting to share with everyone.

Your best bet, if you are not to familiar with flyfishing the surf, would be the beaches between Seacliff and Sand Dollar State Beaches. Any fly that uses the colors red and orange work good for perch. Be prepared, you may just hook into a striper. Stripers are around feeding in the surf line on sand crabs.
Fish during the morning before the wind starts up or during the evening if the wind lets up. This year has been an unusually windy summer.
