Off the water last week "Family-ing" Out early this morning. No grabs in the first 1/2 an hour throwing top-water, but when the sun started to show the fish started to eat. 11 stripers including a 6# and an 8.5 #. Had a nice fish in the teens follow my 8.5#er for a minute or more during the fight. Still some nice fish in the lower river. Will be back in a few days. Had the river to myself for 3 hours.
We are spoiled to have that river in our backyard.

Nice Fish Hatch!

I'm going to piggy back your report if you don't mind. Took dad's new drift boat out for the first time. Floated Rossmoor to Howe throwing mostly big flies. It was pretty slow once the sun got higher in the sky but the am wasn't bad. We only hooked three fish but missed some strikes as well and had a few follows.

This was the best fish of the day and the first fish for the boat. Didn't weigh it or anything but I got a rough length estimate on my rod but it was a fat fish.

Great to be on the water and dad steered us around pretty good for his first time rowing.

Nice fish, that is a solid 9 to 10 #er. Worth getting up early for any day of the week as far as I am concerned. Good Work.
