Big Rooster

Here's a photo I just receive for a guy who fished with me in May. Marc came all the way from New Caladonia to catch a rooster. He spent a week fishing the beaches of the East Cape and I believe one or two days in a panga and only caught a few small roo's But it was the La Paz/Cerralvo trip that he did it. This is a 75lb rooster. It was actually taller than Marc was.

Fly caught. They beached the boat by the point of the lighthouse and he fought it from the beach. He hooked up right in the shallow waters. At first he didn't think it was that big but when he started moving and then stopped and anchored on the bottom he knew it was going to be a while. I'll bet he's still smiling from ear to ear.

Could my retirement fish be swimming the beaches of Las Arenas :-)
